And the news is all good for Briz-vegas, with the Brisbane Airport recently announcing its ambitious plan to become Australians No#1 International Hub – the Gateway to Australia!
This plan has been buoyed by Qantas announcing that by mid-2018 half its long-distance Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner’s will be based in Brisbane. These planes will be able to reach US and European destinations non-stop. This is BIG news for Qantas and BIGGER news for Brisbane.
You see while Melbourne and Sydney airports are nearing capacity; the new kid on the block is making their play!
Brisbane currently handles up to 50 aircraft an hour at peak, compared to 80 in Sydney and 60 in Melbourne. However, the capacity is set to soar to more than 100 p/hr.
The Brisbane Airport expansion is just one of the many infrastructure projects currently underway. Remember that David Ricardo told us 200 years ago exactly what will end up happening – the Effortless Advantage says that ALL this infrastructure will increase productivity and population resulting in increased profitability that must increase local land prices.
Just like the planes, the sky is the limit for Brisbane property prices!
